Roy Bailey and Tony Benn
I went to the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre last night to see Tony Benn and Roy Bailey.
The programme was a history of freedom and socialism in the UK. It moved from the Diggers, Ranters etc as far back as the 1300s to the protests of Greenham Common in 1982. Interspersed between hilarious and highly entertaining 'lectures' by Tony Benn were relevant songs sung by Roy Bailey while he played the guitar.
I want to go in some detail over the programme on here, and I will tonight. I've known for a long time that perhaps 85% of what Tony Benn says I agree with – often, though, for different reasons.
He may have been born in 1925, but he's not 81 in his heart.
