Driving West?
Just, for goodness sake, don't use any roads in any way going west from Brighton towards Worthing. An articulated lorry has overturned on the A27 between Southwick tunnel and the Adur river's flyover spilling all it's traffic onto the A259 across the Norfolk bridge.
I decided to venture out this evening and turned around before I left Southwick when I realised how long it would take me to get home. The A270 is queued back beyond the Link Road in Hove (a good four miles at least); the A27 trunk road is queued back far beyond the Patcham/A23 exit on the way back to Hollingbury; the Upper Shoreham Road is queued solidly for its entire length...
To consider the bypass (the A27 trunk) wasn't alway there!
